Who is Taffy?
Taffy is a rabbit-eared recruit who joined the A.C.D. expecting a desk job and a comfortable paycheck. Instead she was assigned to haul cargo through the most chaotic districts of Nova City as a delivery courier, with a dual affiliation to the underground Cat Express operation. She leads her own sub-unit of the task force, the internet-slang-named Yeet Squad.
Her stated life philosophy is energy conservation: never do anything annoying, never work for free, drink plenty of cola, and take frequent breaks. Community coverage of the Tokyo Game Show 2025 demo summarised it as working for five minutes and resting for two hours. Her personal goal outside a large paycheck is to reach a million followers and convert that into perks — which ties her directly into ANANTA's influencer system.
Taffy is also the character most people are actually looking for when they search for a female main character. To be clear: she is not the protagonist. The Captain is. Taffy is the first recruit into your rebuilt task force and reports to the Captain.
Weapon and combat
Taffy's signature weapon is an oversized mallet that transforms into a rideable bike. The same object covers both jobs: she swings it as a hammer in close combat, and converts it to ride for a charging attack or to travel. Coverage of the TGS 2025 demo describes it variously as a bike and as a supercharged segway — those are the same transforming weapon, not two items.
She shares the cast-wide two-button foundation — attack and block/counter — with dodge rolls layered on once enemies start using guns. She can also summon the hammer as a hoverboard during traversal.
Taffy is not a pure melee bruiser, though. The TGS demo showed her leaning heavily on the environment, beating one enemy with a crowbar and then throwing it at the last one. That is the physics-first combat system working as designed rather than a character-specific trick.
Traversal: the fastest character confirmed
This is Taffy's real selling point. Every playable character shares the universal parkour, wall-running and grapple moveset, but Taffy's transforming mallet gives her a second movement mode that no one else has, and it fits her delivery identity. She is the fastest explorer in the confirmed roster.
There is also a nice mechanical overlap with the switching system: calling her on the phone in-game swaps control to her. Courier service and character switching are the same action.
How Taffy progresses
Taffy's progression is a day job, not a generic XP bar: she levels by completing deliveries. Deliveries earn XP and in-game income, and her routes deliberately run through the most dangerous parts of Nova City, which is where the trouble comes from.
This is the clearest example of ANANTA's identity system working as intended — a character whose progression path is a job in the city rather than a combat grind. See the gameplay guide for how this fits the wider loop.
How to unlock Taffy
Taffy is free. There is no character gacha in ANANTA: every character is unlocked through story progression or organic encounters in the open world. Pre-launch coverage consistently positions her as the first recruit into the rebuilt task force, so expect her early. The exact chapter or trigger is to be confirmed.
