When does Ananta come out?

Ananta comes out on January 15, 2027. That date is official: NetEase Games and Naked Rain stated it in a press release issued on August 25, 2026, and it is the date currently shown on the game's Steam store page. If you have seen other windows floating around — "2026", "Q4", "TBA" — those are stale. The January 15, 2027 date replaced them.

The same announcement confirmed the release is a worldwide launch, not a regional soft launch. The wording covers the official PC client, PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and mobile (iOS and Android) in a single global date. What has not been specified is the exact unlock time, whether every region unlocks simultaneously or on a rolling local-midnight schedule, and whether preloading will be offered ahead of the day.

What platforms is Ananta confirmed for?

Four targets are confirmed in the launch announcement: the official PC client, Steam, PlayStation 5, and mobile via iOS and Android. The Steam listing independently mirrors the January 15, 2027 date and names Naked Rain Studio as developer and NetEase Games as publisher.

Xbox is not on the confirmed list. There has been no official announcement of an Xbox version, and the game was absent from the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2026. How Ananta got here: a short timeline

The project was first revealed at Gamescom on August 24, 2023 under the name Project Mugen. It was rebranded to ANANTA in November 2024. The name comes from Sanskrit and is generally read as "without end" — a reference to the studio's pitch of a city that keeps producing new things to do rather than a campaign with an ending.

The first offline technical test ran on January 3, 2025. The first closed beta followed a year later, running January 16–20, 2026 on PC only. In June 2026 the game skipped the major summer showcases entirely — no State of Play, no Summer Game Fest, no PC Gaming Show — which prompted a lot of "is it cancelled?" threads. It was not cancelled. It reappeared at Gamescom on August 26, 2026 with the story trailer that carried the release date.

If you are trying to judge whether the date will hold: the game has now named a specific day on a store page that players can wishlist. That is a much stronger signal than a press-release window, though delays remain possible for any live-service launch.

What is not confirmed yet

Several things players search for simply have no official answer. We list them here rather than guessing:
